Easy Apple Pie
Easy Apple Pie
This is a brilliant recipe to get the kids involved in, they can almost manage the entire pie (except the hot stuff) by themselves.
You will need:
6 Apples (we use a mix of red and green)
1 Juicy Lemon or 2 not so juicy lemons
1/4 Cup of Honey or sweetener of your choice
1 Sheet of Puff Pastry
Directions:
We use the apple slinky to peel and core the apples as it’s much safer for the children. Once the apples are slinky-ed the kids can cut them in quarters with a not-so-sharp knife. Place the apples in a bowl and squeeze the juice of the lemon over the top. Add the honey and mix thoroughly, cover and allow to stand for an hour or 2.
Preheat oven to 200C or 400F
Once the apples have been soaked spoon them into a pie or casserole dish, cut the pastry to size, brush with milk and prick with holes.
Place in the oven for approximately 30 minutes and serve with your favorite accompaniment.
