Why it’s great to include broccoli in your diet
We all know that we should be eating broccoli right? But why? Well did you know broccoli actually contains more Vitamin C than oranges? And what’s so important about Vitamin C?
Vitamin C helps to protect against colds and other viral infections. Vitamin C is also a free radical scavenger and has been recognized for it’s ability to prevent certain cancers. Vitamin C is necessary for collagen production and is an important component in connective tissue.
Broccoli is also a good source of iron, sulphur compounds and calcium.
Broccoli is best steamed or served raw as it can lose more than 50% of it’s health benefits during the boiling process.
