Eric is so excited to be starting school and can’t wait to make friends, but when he gets there he realizes that he doesn’t really know to create friendships with the other children.
Eric doesn’t give up through, he gets advice from his mum and begins to do the things that she suggests, over time the school children find that Eric is really nice and easy to talk to.
We can also learn from the school children in the story, who are afraid of Eric because they have never seen a giant before.
The children soon begin to understand that they don’t have to be afraid of someone just because they look a little different.
Just like Eric, we should never give up trying to make friends because when we have created friendships, we feel happy, safe and special.
When we meet a new child, or get a new classmate, it is always important to be kind, you never know… you may end up with a special friend.
We created this book to help our children grow in confidence and appreciation, it has helped them to appreciate and enjoy each day and realise how much they have to be grateful for.
